This role suits an experienced analytics professional ready to operate at a strategic level, governing platforms, influencing architecture decisions, and embedding data quality across a large, complex organisation. Advanced Power BI skills are essential, with a background in resources, energy, or oil and gas highly regarded.

About this role

Working as the analytics subject matter expert within a Technology team, you will define and maintain the information management domain across retrospective, real-time, predictive, and cognitive analytics while managing platform demand, cost of ownership, and the adoption of emerging technologies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide technical governance of analytics and data processes, implementing systems and frameworks that reduce costs and improve business access to information.
  • Define, implement, and maintain the analytics information management domain to meet strategic business objectives across all analytics streams.
  • Govern analytics and data solutions, promoting reporting and analytics governance across all business areas.
  • Engage the business to drive adoption of existing, new, and emerging analytics platforms and tools.
  • Work with the Technology team and partners to manage new requests, planning, and demand with a focus on controlling total cost of ownership.
  • Continually improve analytics and data services delivered to the business.

Is this you?

  • Post-secondary qualification in Information Management, Information Systems, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10+ years' experience in analytics and data.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Power BI (essential), Microsoft Fabric (desirable), and SAP Datasphere (desirable).
  • Oil and gas experience and/or consulting/professional services background is desirable.
  • A track record of delivering analytics and data solutions within complex organisations and the resources industry, with oil and gas experience highly desirable.
  • Ability to assess and analyse complex analytics and data situations and develop compelling propositions.
  • Experience in IT governance.
  • Experience in analytics technical architecture, data architecture, solution design, and implementation.
  • Expertise across a combination of leading and emerging analytics and data technologies.
  • A track record of developing and maintaining positive stakeholder relationships across all levels of management, including executive level.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills for effective stakeholder and staff engagement.
  • A passion for working in high-performance teams.
  • Effective team player with strong attention to detail.
  • Commitment to excellence and continuous improvement in the quality of work produced.
