Introduction

You'll be joining a large-scale, Australian-owned cropping organisation that prioritises safety, innovation, and a family-oriented culture. Managing a significant amount of land across the country, the business is a major grain producer in Australia. They offer flexibility with your start date to suit your individual needs. This role is based in Western Australia.

What are you going to do 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all farm operations, with full responsibility for activities on-site
  • Lead and supervise the Leading Hand, machinery operators, employees, and contractors
  • Collaborate closely with the Farm Manager on daily operations, performance, and decision-making
  • Drive operational efficiency, leadership, and Workplace Health and Safety standards
  • Work alongside agronomy and precision ag teams to monitor crops and maximise yield potential
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the farm, its people, and a strong team culture
  • Operate farm machinery as required, including spraying, planting, spreading, and harvesting

Essential skills and knowledge 

About You:

  • Proven ability to mentor, coach, and support others
  • Solid experience in broadacre cropping, including dryland winter crop production
  • Skilled in operating and maintaining large-scale cropping machinery and equipment
  • Strong initiative, self-motivation, and a willingness to learn and adopt new practices
  • Effective communicator who works well with team members, agronomists, and contractors
