Introduction

A dimensional control role involves measuring, inspecting, and verifying the geometric accuracy, alignment, and position of fabricated or installed components against engineering drawings and tolerances

What are you going to do 

  • Dimensional Control & Surveying: Plan, execute, and verify high-accuracy dimensional control surveys for topsides, jacket structures, piping spools, and mechanical skid fabrications using laser scanners and total stations.

  • Data Analysis & Modeling: Process field survey data using 3D modeling/metrology software (e.g., Leica Cyclone, Spatial Analyzer, CAD) to perform clash detection, interface verification, and fit-up checks.

  • Quality & Tolerance Verification: Ensure all structural and mechanical components strictly comply with client specifications, API, ASME, and international engineering standards.

  • Technical Reporting: Prepare comprehensive survey, fit-up, and dimensional control reports for project management, QA/QC, and client review.

  • Site Execution: Coordinate closely with fabrication, welding, and QC teams on-site/in the yard to resolve alignment issues prior to final assembly or installation.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Geodetic Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Experience: Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in dimensional control engineering within the Oil & Gas, Offshore Fabrication, Marine, or Heavy Construction/EPCC industries.

  • Technical Skills: Proficient in operating laser scanners, total stations, and metrology software. Strong expertise in interpreting engineering drawings (P&ID, Isometrics, Structural Layouts) and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

  • Languages: Business fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia (both written and spoken).

  • Location: Must be based in or willing to relocate to Batam.
