Introduction

The Planning Lead will oversee the end-to-end planning, scheduling, and progress tracking for major site infrastructure, construction, and mine maintenance activities. Reporting to project management, this role is responsible for establishing robust baseline schedules, identifying critical path risks early, and optimizing resource allocation across multi-disciplinary contractor teams in a remote site environment.

What are you going to do 

  • Master Planning & Scheduling: Lead the short-term, medium-term, and long-term planning for site operations, maintenance programs, and major infrastructure/construction activities using Primavera P6 or MS Project.

  • Progress Monitoring & Baseline Tracking: Establish baseline schedules, track project KPIs, monitor physical progress vs. planned targets, and perform critical path analyses to prevent schedule slippage.

  • Resource & Cost Optimization: Coordinate with operations, engineering, and procurement teams to optimize resource allocation (equipment, manpower, materials) and minimize operational downtime.

  • Risk & Delay Mitigation: Identify potential schedule bottlenecks, site constraints, and operational risks early, developing proactive mitigation and recovery plans.

  • Reporting & Stakeholder Management: Prepare comprehensive daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for site leadership, executive management, and key stakeholders.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Experience: Minimum 8-10+ years of total experience in project planning and scheduling, with at least 5 years in a lead role within mining, heavy industrial, or major construction projects.

  • Software Proficiency: Advanced, hands-on expertise in Primavera P6 and MS Project.

  • Roster Commitment: Willingness and fitness to work on a 6 weeks ON / 2 weeks OFF rotation on-site in Papua.

  • Languages: Business fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
