Introduction

Brunel has an exciting opportunity for a Project Construction Coordinator (Civil/Earthworks) supporting our client who are a leading mining company.

This contract position will work on-site in Bagdad, Arizona, the working week is Monday through Friday, on a 4-week on-site/1-week at home not working rotational schedule. Travel accommodations, transportation, and a monthly stipend will be included.

What are you going to do 

This contract role provides engineering field support with a primary focus on civil engineering and large earthworks construction, acting as a key liaison between Engineering and Construction teams. The position supports safe, efficient execution of bulk earthworks, site grading, foundations, roads, drainage, and related infrastructure, ensuring design intent is effectively implemented in the field and adapted to actual site conditions as required.

The role emphasizes field coordination, constructability, and real-time problem solving, supporting construction progress from early earthworks through turnover to operations. The position reports to the Project Engineering Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Field Engineering & Construction Support
  • Provide day-to-day civil engineering field support for large-scale earthworks, including mass excavation, embankments, fills, grading, haul roads, drainage, and foundation preparation.
  • Support construction activities by interpreting drawings, specifications, and design criteria, and clarifying requirements for contractors and field crews.
  • Coordinate closely with Construction, Engineering, Survey, and Quality teams to ensure alignment between design intent and field execution.
  • Adapt designs to field conditions in collaboration with Home Office Engineering and Engineer of Record (EOR).

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with 5+ years of heavy civil or earthworks experience OR
  • High School Diploma/GED with 10+ years of related field experience
  • Experience with large earthworks or mining projects
  • EPCM or owner-side field coordination experience
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
