Introduction

  • The Senior Interface Engineer is assigned to the package WHP of the Project, during execution of EPCIC phase.

What are you going to do 

* General complianceo Promote & comply with HSE policy, instructions and procedures in all activities.
o Carry out work in compliance with Company values and policies, relevant laws and regulations, agreed Company priorities and objectives, Company standards and procedures and good industry practices.o Treat all information obtained during course of the work with confidentiality.
o Deliver work to short deadlines in high pressure project environment.* General management:
o To adopt and demonstrate an exemplary behavior with regard to HSSE and to implement HSSE rules and requirements within his area of responsibility.o To assist and support the package manager in the management of the project control activities (operational report), in particular related to change management and cost/schedule impacts.
o Communicate and collaborate within department (MP) and the wider organization to ensure timely delivery of projects.o Communicate and liaise with D&W, E&C to ensure timely and efficient resolution of interfaces.
o Ensure all works carried out in compliance with company standards and policies, and support any associated audits, as necessary.o To ensure confidentiality of all the documentation produced (whatever its support)
o To timely report to Package Manager, highlighting progress and areas of concerns encountered in the performance of his duties* Engineering and Interfaces:
o To liaise with other interface engineers, all discipline engineers involved in the management of interfaces, and with contractor personnel handling interfaces. The job holder shall also make sure that non-contractual interfaces (i.e. interfaces between different subcontractors of contractors) are properly addressed by contractor.o To organize and/or attend technical interface meetings as necessary.
o To ensure consistence and correct interfacing with other areas during the various phase of detailed design, procurement, fabrication, installation and animate dedicated transverse coordination between packages as required to ensure all requirements for EPC activities are complied with.o To ensure timely review of documentation by COMPANY interfaces to identify clashes/conflicts
o To ensure coordination and follow-up of E&C G&G surveys throughout execution,o To follow up 3rd party interfaces (i.e. Logistic)
o To oversee the implementation of the interface management process by Project team and Contractor(s), and in particular, to keep the Interface Task Register (ITR) and Interface Document Register (IDR) updated.o To attend all interface-related meetings, including in particular interface workshops, HAZID / HAZOP meetings, meetings with Contractor(s), etc. in order to ensure the permanent control of the battery limits.
o To organize, control and follow up process to have all deliverables timely issued by contractors for all interfaces, and to control the quality of these deliverables.o To assist EPCIC Contractor(s), as required, in the closing out of interfaces. To expedite the exchange of Interface Task Sheet involving Contractor(s) as necessary.
o To ensure that EPCIC Contractors provide proper reporting of the progress of their interfaces activities and ensure subsequently report on progress of interface management process implementation to Project Manager and refer to him in the event of any deviation or conflict with proposed remedial actions.o To avoid change orders and delays caused by interface issues by ensuring timely follow-up of interfaces. To anticipate problems and work together with Contractor(s), Engineering Manager and as a general manner with all discipline Engineers, to propose technical solutions.
o To liaise with other departments like Drilling & Wells, Reservoir & Geosciences and Field Operations for the management of interface up to their close-out.o To liaise with project team and discipline engineers on all interface matters and/or help expedite the development of the interface management process between Contractors.
o To liaise with the Document Control team to assist consolidation of the interface management records for all project packages.o When necessary, participate in monitoring interfaces between different subcontractors of a main EPCIC contractor.
o To monitor and chase Technical Queries and Derogations Requests in liaison with discipline engineers and COMPANY Technical Reference Persons.o To ensure technical coordination between packages and in close coordination with Package Manager and Engineering Leads
o To Ensure/Close follow-up of CPN/SCN during project execution in close coordinationo Ensure readiness for all internal/external audits required (PR, Third parties, Partners)
o Assist Package Manager for Project Close out* Estimation, support package contract engineer to:
o Identify potential claims and disputes, mitigate and manage settlement within the contract framework.o Estimate the costs of all changes/change orders and seek for best solutions to defend/protect company best interests and within contingencies.
o Identify and mitigate at early stage the major commercial and contractual execution risks, and defense of contractual claimso Manage and maintaining positive safety-based relationships with contractor and key sub-contractors.
o Assist package management in the presentation and control of change management performance.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Graduate Engineering degree from a recognized University
  • Certification Project Management Professional (PMP) required
  • Certification Risk Management Professional (PMI-RPM) is a plus
  • Graduate with a good level of project control understanding with experience in cost estimating,
  • benchmarking and evaluation of cost impact for technical and scope changes
  • 20+ years' diverse experience in offshore oil & gas projects required. Proven track record working
  • directly with major operators for greenfield projects.
  • Experience in project management, contracts management & interface management required.
  • Experience in engineering coordination, onshore construction and offshore works are a plus.
  • High autonomy required.
  • Fluent in English (speaking and writing) with sound communication skills.
  • Ability to work on projects in a complex and multicultural environment.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office
